Hey there beautiful, we would love to see a bit more food in your crop; the emaciated look is so out./passe'. Though we aren't completely back to the wonderful curvacious look like Marilyn Monroe, a bit more 'meat on your bones' is both healthier and more lovely. Plus, it will help reduce your Mum's stress level!

@RoyalChick : Bella is absolutely lovely! I'm glad Lulu came by to visit with her, and I certainly hope she makes good use of this extra time, the world needs more sweet personalities, not fewer!

I am going to see how much should be in a chicken at any time.

@Ponypoor So, how long does any one piece stay in a chicken, on average??

Length of time in gizzard X total weight (55 grams) / 365 days in a year = how much they should have at any one time in their gizzard (in grams)

Regardless, @RoyalChick , I would imagine this is enough for now. Once you find out about how long they remain in gizzard, start giving a few pieces halfway between your initial 'dosing' and the mean length of time. (i.e. so if you gave some today (7/26), and the mean length of time in crop is 6 days, give a few pieces in 3 days, on the 29th) Exactly how much depends on what the presumed total weight of grit in their crop/gizzard should be at any one time, and how much you have already given.

Not yet 34. But if her digestive system shuts down she will die of dehydration even if the virus is dormant.
I will continue to take it day by day. I will be sooo happy if she poops over night.
