Coyotes are active tonight…. Lots of yipping and howling !

Tonight I left wee Marty in the window but I will have to lift her down in the morning- I just can’t risk her getting injured, 4’ is a huge drop for her!

I will have to lower that roost now for sure, or put in more steps for them to hop down. I will sleep on it, I do my best thinking at midnight 😊

I also kept Truly and Reenie inside tonight, but kicked the other two ponies out. Truly was pacing and walking so much she was exhausting herself and Reenie was following her, the two of them were losing too much weight. We shall see how that goes so far I don’t think she realizes the other two have been kicked outside!!! Can’t keep Sally inside her COPD is so bad and being inside make it worse. Horses, nothing but worry and trouble (sigh)…

Whining tax
One dirty bird! Fluffy getting down and dirty

You people said that you would be here for me, if I had trouble. Well, this time, Jaffar isn’t a strong enough emotional support rooster. :hit There’s more to explain at the moment to dictate it on this thread. It’s ok, my animals are all safe. But I’m not.
What’s up?

I am praying for you my friend. Whatever the trouble is.

Much cooler day today (phone is reading 57 as opposed to 95 like it's been). Was out watching the tribe and moving the hose. Took these...

Hector was up the hill behind me (he's still banished to a "safe" distance away from the girls: as determined by Cheetah)

Hector a kind of weird coo/screech. Everyone looked up, Cheetah made a similar (clearer like the difference in crows) sound and all froze. There's a long narrow winged smallish bird cruising by (guessing Falcon). I start moving down the hill and a cedarwax wing in the dead tops of the trees up by Hector sounds off (alarm type sound). Suddenly, I have a steady flow of chickens moving back into the olive trees (upper left corner of the pics, but down the hill).

They've come back out now, but sentinels are very apparent, including the little guys.

1. Hector may be shunned/banished because he's a hormonal idiot at the moment, but he sounds alerts when he should and they listen.

2. They're listening to other birds, including little ones for alerts too.

3. They all head for shelter without rebellion, fuss, or pause when warranted.

They are learning cooperation.
