21:00 hours. I heard tapping of little feet, scratching on my wood floor, at my open bedroom door. Wouldn’t you know, Dakota came from the chickens room across the hall to my room. I guess she wants to say good night. (Or she was lonely?) Crazy chooks!!

She was all good this evening flying and jumping around. We give her a final cleaning in the morning.

Will do. 400 acres but 60% contained. Dropped off bottled water and Gatorade at the fire station. I told them thanks and please be safe. Wish I could have done more.

The young naked neck girl that hatched from Poofy Jr, a mini Brahma. Chose to roost next to her mama In Red's coop. Normally this group doesn't tolerate new members but i checked after i bedded the pups and there she was on the top roost! These same birds tried to give Poofy Jr crap when she rejoined the flock, of course being a senior hen she got her spot back. Poofy Jr once whipped her mom when they were both broody. She's one tough mama, all 3 pounds of her,lol

Maybe you should try the tie/clip them back approach to see if it works?

Yes I was going to see if one of my hair clips would stay in. I did note that he moved much better after I trimmed him up!! And harder to catch ha!!!

He is fairly quiet mostly, but he can run when he has too!

Even Gucci's little ones are tough. It's nerve racking to be certain.

Thankfully he is quiet!

Doing the silkies is crazy as they just struggle so much!

Sorry about the crazy heat, the humidity has broken here thankfully, but when I was up at 2am I noted that Rose was still really huffing.

Yep notice she is better this morning, not sure were Curly has got to! She was roosting with the other two overnight, guess she is off to lay an egg… guess she can get down from the roost without my help hopefully she didn’t fall off the roost… guess I better get out there and check on them, and get to work
