I am very late to the party... let's just call it "Hawaiian time" 😅 I wanted to congratulate @BY Bob on this thread reaching 10,000 pages & 100,000 posts! What a wonderful feat! In celebration of this milestone, here are some of my favorite photos that I've shared in this thread:

It's been a while since I've last been on here. It was hard coming back after Chickadee disappeared at the end of February. For those that don't know, she was a wild hen that "adopted" me during the pandemic and moved into my backyard for nearly two years. It was really hard on me when she left and I think I'm (sort of, okay not really) coming to terms with it.

I don't even know how many pages & posts I'm behind on 😅 I feel like I have lots of catching up to do! Hope you are all well and I look forward to reading up on everyone's flocks!
Well hello! I sure missed you! Love the photos they were wonderful.

It’s all good everyone can help you catch up.

I am so sorry to hear about your gal Chickadee, they sure fill us up don’t they?

The getting up is not the problem. It's the jump down that's the issue. There is a great risk she could injure the leg further. Especially if she is jumping down from height. Can you bring her inside and roost her lower?
I could, but BoPeeps isn’t used to sleeping in the house alone. Even Dakota is staying inside the coop with the rest tonight. I’m going to check on her again in a few minutes.

Good moggy! Send her here - I am freaking out as there is something digging under my hen house flooring.

Tomorrow I am going to move everything out of there and see what’s up behind the nest boxes and set some rat or mouse traps.

Furious with vermin now. I can’t poison outside the feed room for obvious reasons! So need to get a handle on the beasties and get rid of them. Right now I am a nervous wreck worrying about a rat of something getting in there - sure could use a kitty like Éowyn to protect them!
Dry ice. Fill in all their exits but one and cover that one with 5 lbs of dry ice. Cover the dry ice with dirt. The CO2 is heavier than oxygen and will push the breathable air out and suffocate all the rats. The rats just go to sleep and never wake up.

I just noticed that BoPeeps is walking with a limp, but I didn’t see any problems with the foot she’s favoring! ?? :idunno
Of dear poor chickie, you might want to keep her from jumping down from roosts and what not for a few days. Likely a strain or sprain.

How is Dakota doing? How is her wing?

I hear ya! Cutting those suckers is hard! Like cutting sticks! I am going to try the ponytail holders on the wee man.

She sure looks cute though :love
She is a cutie pie. I just pray that she keeps getting better every day. She worries me so.

Can you do out before the sun is up and take her down off the roost?

Good idea! Now we’re would I find dry ice?

This sound like a science experiment I can get into! I see a ‘sick day’ coming on for tomorrow (esp seeing as how my request for a weeks vacation is not being answered ha! Sorry need to pay taxes for vendictiveneas!)

I sure wish Dorothy would stop being broody

I Googled it. An air/gas company usually has it.
