I think I cut them too narrow...a couple of spots, though not splintery - the top layer of laminate has peeled off in a small spot. If I do use plywood again, I need to make it wider (I think) than the just under 1/2 inch. Or else seal it better.

O yes. Mine are much wider than that. They are full on ramps with gripping strips.

What an incredible story! Thanks for sharing. I don't think you're weak- it take some guts to care for all these animals, and still do the processing part. I guess any chickens who stay with you is lucky to be a part of your big family. Yes, chickens have a way of getting to you- I also didn't really want them , so I can totally relate !



I didn't exactly realize how much this sounded like I'm buying him a birthday present for me . To clarify, we never give each other birthday present, and we're both very low tech- we don't usually buy new if something is still working. It just happened to be my partner's birthday two days ago. His camera is technically still working, but he would enjoy having a lighter one to take hiking.
But, to be honest I'm pretty sure he would prefer another chainsaw .

Ok, that's useful information. He's not serious with photos, it's just that he does a lot of photos in the mountains and the phone doesn't have a sufficient wide angle lens to get the depth ( sorry if that's not very clear, I'm not sure the translation is correct). A reflex would be far too heavy to carry.

I get it. Hearing how he does it while hiking, size would be very important. Most cameras list extensive specs online. I would find one with the right wide angle lense.

My Samsung S21 has the following specs. It has 3 rear cameras on it

Main Camera

• 12 megapixels (OIS, PDAF)
• aperture size f1.8
• focal length 26 mm
• Sensor size: 1/1.76"
• Pixel Size 1.8 um

Second Camera

• 64 megapixels (Telephoto, OIS, PDAF)
• aperture size f2.0
• focal length 13 mm
• Sensor size: 1/2.55"
• Pixel Size 0.8 um

Third Camera

• 12 megapixels (Ultra-wide, Autofocus)
• aperture size f2.2
• focal length 13 mm
• Sensor size: 1/2.55"
• Pixel Size 1.4 um

Now the S22 supposedly has a better set of cameras than that. I am thinking thought that an S21 would be cheaper now that the S22 is out. I hope this helps.

The RAMP is about 8-9 inches wide, sanded tongue and groove boards (3) nailed together (believe it or not, they were pulled from a pallet!). The plywood 'strips' are the treads on the ramp for stepping instead of slipping. They are every 4" on the ramp proper.

I don't think I am describing it well. here is a pic that shows what I am trying to describe. Yes, the first strip came off and needs to be replaced...or me redo ramp.

So cute. I got the xmas blanket we use for living room visits for baby chick and I sat in front of the brooder door with it open to see who would jump on my lap. Quite a few of them did but 3 stayed and acted like it was a soft dust bath and layed there. I took my shot and tried to pet them , 2 jumped out. One stayed. She didn't flinch and laid there and let me pet her head and back and little wings and crop. She is so precious. She doesn't have a name yet so I will need to think of a very special name for this little girl today. She was quiet and calm and had an even black and white on her. I'll have to get a picture.
