Sadly, the sweet little girl didn’t make it. I think she was too far gone when we intervened, plus, we should have administered fluids. She was severely emaciated in my opinion. They sent her to UC Davis for necropsy, so maybe they’ll learn something. They rescued her off the street, figuring someone gad dumped her as coyote bait. 💔
You are a good person for trying. 💗
Shame on the drain scum that dumped her 😪

I have entered "chick watch" a day earlier then I expected. While there is no external pips yet, both girls have eggs that you can clearly hear cheeping from. I was just outside a few minutes ago sitting in front of their nests, both girls clucking constantly and 3 different times I heard peeping over top of the clucking. All 3 girls started out with 8 eggs. Bunny has 6 left due to accidental breaking 2 which were oddly clears the 2nd week. Raven has 7 left, she broke one 2 days ago, again a clear egg. Blueberry who is roughly a week behind them, still has all 8.

And they are all little roosters waiting to hatch!

I have been sneezing lately. Don’t know why, I started it yesterday. Maybe it’s the chooks, their dusty feathers or particulates. I didn’t sneeze all morning though, and now I have Coco inside with me. I started sneezing a few times. I’m worried that I am susceptible to chicken dander ? :idunno I better not be. I love to be close to my feathered family. They are all I have! (Especially Coco!)

Yesterday it was a bad air warning ⚠️
That’s why I was so bad off yesterday. Nothing was caused by my chooks!
