So 2 questions/thoughtsHealthcare NOT meds. Oh I can see any Dr I want - walk in any hospital, clinic (as long as you don't have covid - don't get me started on Covid...). Break an arm, go to any emerg, got the sniffles, go to any clinic, popping out a baby? your choice (unless youre in a remote community then it gets sticky!) were you want to have it.
Need an MRI - sure, Need x-ray - good to go, bloodwork, sonograms, etc - all covered.
But NOT meds. Over 65 there is a $100 deductible and after that almost all meds are covered (unless its experimental meds for treatments - but those are generally also covered).
There is talk of covering meds for those 25 and under, and it will likely get passed in the House.
Having said that there is a serious lack of Doctors here, they are all retiring and the new ones only want to practice in big Urban Centres. Rural practice is hard and they want to raise families where the kids can hop on a bus or walk to the malls hahahaha
Oh my Dr will prescribe my meds for me, I have a neurological issue and those meds are gold standard for the treatment. Not to mention pain relief for my arthritis. BUT Tramacet (Tramadol) is a Sched IV med and she only prescribes monthly for me, they are very strict here about narcotic meds, so the last time I got my script filled was early Sept, should have filled it before now silly me. And it is very expensive - and the drug plan covered about 80% of the cost. I can take a cheaper med which is a 1/3 the cost (codeine) but as I am trying to get onto a pipeline job and they do drug testing for those jobs I can't take that (also it really bothers my gut so I hate taking it - but it is hands down far superior than the tramacet for my leg spasms).
So I just suffer right now. I did ask the pharmacy on Friday to renew it before the kerfuffle happened... but the Dr didn't get back to him with the refill. Oh well!
¿What good is having Healthcare if you can't get meds to help with your condition? That's like.....
Well Captain Smith, the iceberg tore a huge hole in the ship but you don't have coverage for lifeboats. Best of luck to you.
¿Your coverage stops immediately? Here you at least have coverage through the end of the month. You should have already paid for this full month. ¿Are they going to credit a week back to you?
