Or he doesn’t understand French 😊

I need to remind him this is a bilingual country 😊

I need to hear the Chinese pronunciation...wonder if it's the same in Mandarin, Cantonese, and other languages?

I only got pictures of Gaston and Merle drinking before it started raining. We're supposed to get a storm this afternoon and temperatures are supposed to drop below freezing next week- at last, five weeks late.
Unfortunately Théo and Cannelle are taking forever to molt and Nougat just joined them. My coop has many problems but it's good at staying relatively stable regarding temps, as it's a half buried ceiling, so I'm not worried about cold. The fact that Théo won't let Gaston approach the coop poses a problem when we have heavy rain or storms ( which is probably going to be very rare if the drought continues), as the best bushes and trees to take shelter are all around the coop.

Merle shows green shimmer on one side and blue-purplish from the other

Merle is like Dorothy - is green then purple then black depending on how she is standing😊

Love that poster ! Might make a copy and post it here in the office-feedroom!

I knew it was bound to happen, my idiot got whipped by his daddy yesterday.

This knothead thought it would be a smart idea to jump one of the momma hens. She shrieked and Branch rolled him. The big baby came running to who other but ME. Seeing as how Branch was hot on his heels I scooped him up. We had a long talk about the error of his ways. How I would not always be around to save him so he had better start making smart decisions and to never mess with the momma hens. When I put him down Branch came out of nowhere to administer another stern peck to his head to get his point across. The rest of the afternoon he did leave the momma hens alone. It was a good thing too, because now, he is being watched very closely by Branch ready to pounce if he puts a toe out of line.

Please Twig, please. Learn the error of your ways quickly and smarten up.
Can’t remember - is Twig full on silkie? He sure is looking cute 🥰

Ahhhhh!! What The Heck !!!!

I was cleaning up poops in the alleyway (put some shavings on them sweep them around and scoop them up) when I saw this poop (which I assume is from Mr P) and just FREAKED out! You all know me, if my animals so much as look sideways or have a feather or hair out of place I have to ensure all is ok.

But seeing this just panicked me 🥺 poor baby!!🥺😢

I have put this behind a spoiler in case you’re squeamish!
These are Ascarid, in horses they can be quite large! I had a horse I bought that pooped out a bucket of them when I wormed her 😳

Nope, he is 1 of my 2 Marans x silkie crosses. Goose is my other one. I know a lot of people use cochins to create their satin silkies but I have to say I am preferring the look the Marans are giving to the satin silkies. It is also a plus that Twig and Goose are completely unrelated. Twig is the results of Branch, a silkie x Corona, a Marans. Goose is the sneaky result of Bubba a Marans and Chiquita, a silkie. Now, while I love my silkies, if I have any complaint at all to them it is their egg color. I do not mind the tiny eggs, in fact I love them, but they are stark white. Next spring when Goose starts laying thanks to her genetics she should lay a tiny some warm shade of brown eggs. Twig is already bigger then Branch but he is not going to get at big as a pure Marans rooster, I do not expect him to get much taller. Goose is tiny, taking her size after her mom Chiquita. If you can't tell, yes I'm already plotting since I do have a male/female pair. Crossing those 2 to make more Black Copper satin silkies.
I already posted these, but here is Goose last week.
