Today it’s very warm here at +5C (40f ?), and there is hardly any snow if there is 2” right now that’s as much! It’s very scary because if there is a lack of snow it means lack of moisture and could be a horrible forest fire season.

Also not good to be warm as the spruce bud worm need at least -35C for 3 weeks to kill them off. They have destroyed millions of hectares of trees causing even further fire risk.

It’s not good inthe north with all this crazy weather!

Oh I love my cameras! I want to put some in we’re I have my horses boarded but not sure if the people will let me. The horses I miss terribly as I can’t log in and check on them like I can the chickens.
We have Japanese beetles too (in addition to the spruce worms). More snow so far than all of last year , I'd share if I could.

I have six freeloading hens now. Only Shenandoah is laying everyday. What ever is going on, laying eggs is the last thing I’m worried about. I’m hoping Jaffar has some answers to this, but it is up to him. I raise chickens for pets anyways
I have eight free loaders. Nobody is laying. As you know, mine are pets, too.

I was talking with Jaffar, and he said “how can Kelly possibly get along without her chooks?” I had to tell him that some people in life still work and have to go away sometimes. He doesn’t realize how fortunate he is that he’s got me around most of the time watching over him and his tribe. Honestly I miss my career too. Just too hard to be jumping fences at 60 years old.

Popcorn today, chomping corn and walnuts
View attachment 3330575

Peanut also gladly ate corn, I let her eat a lot, and she had a few walnut bits. Saw her on two separate times eat a few pellets too, plus she ate a few out of my hand, so I think she's getting at least some food into her. She really wants lots of water. Saw her poop a soft but not runny poop today. She's doing okay I believe.
OUCH! Poor baby!
