It is dismaying to hear that work effects your sugar so much. :hugs :hugs

Broody Maleficent. Don't ask me why I was reminiscing about this today.

This time of year can frequently make you nostalgic, in both good and bad ways. I have been thinking about my dad and my grandparents a lot lately.

Funny story about my grandparents. They got married 12/10/1941, three days after Pearl Harbor. My grandfather was in the military, and as a pilot they were worried he would be shipped out soon. They were right, in a way, he was given orders a few days later. She didn’t hear from him for almost a year, and she believed he was overseas. Turned out he was never more than 100 miles away, they decided he was most valuable training other pilots. But he wasn’t allowed to contact her for security reasons. In fact he ended up never being stationed anywhere but Texas

Cold snap coming to central TX Thursday. Lety is making preparations for the chooks, dogs, and plants. View attachment 3352913
I’m not looking forward to it. Even though it isn’t cold compared to where some people in this thread live, it is extremely cold for here. Especially the predicted windchill of 0F. 🥶

I was craving macadamia nuts today, but all I could find was a small bag with little nuts and chips. But they sure are delicious! :drool

So glad you are home safe and sound!

Bernie: My goodness, this servant is getting bold!

Diana: Yes, she generally is very good, but every once and a while she steals our Cabbage, and a few other kitchen goods.

Bernie: How do you tolerate that in a servant!

Diana: Well, good ones are SO hard to find these days, and aside from the few indiscretions, she is generally fit for duty, so I pretend not to notice.

Bernie: But that was OUR cabbage.

Diana: As a member of the Royal Family, you would be wise to learn when to look the other way, and when to make it an issue. This is not one of those times to make an issue out of it. She did at least give us some of the prime leaves!

Bernie: (under her breathe) Bet that isn't what Aurora would say!

According to weather.com, they said this. This can't be right...

How can it be snowing in 52 F weather and then the next day, it is in the teens? Must explain the extreme temperature drop on Friday night... You're going to give me that 12 F as revenge for saying I hate cold weather. Do you all think this is normal or is it just me? I have never experienced this kind of temperatures and weather before. It has been a while since I've been exposed to 50 degree weather so maybe I should live Friday to the fullest.
