Momma Hen gets called many names, several I cannot say on here depending on the day. She is most often referred to as Momma Hen or the "Ole Bat". Her actual name is Chicken. Yup, you heard me right, Momma Hens name is Chicken. Rosie named her years ago when she was really into the How to Train your Dragons phase. On one of the snin-off series her favorite character Tuffnut had a pet chicken named Chicken. When Rosie tamed Momma she got the honor of naming her. I should never have let her do it, I knew better.
I have a dog named Jack, he's the third one named Jack. Our pit Duke is my second dog named Duke.

Hahaha that’s hilarious!

Had another headache last night. Hated all the fireworks and big guns going off my lab was scared and 2 other dogs kept barking at the noise. Watched Miley and Dolly last night. All that noise didnt seem to bother the chooks that much.
We have a bi-law here prohibiting fireworks except for Canada Day (July 1st), and Victoria Day (May 24). Guess no one follows the law….

My chickens were a bit rattled by them and I am glad the horses are boarded out right now. I wonder if the fireworks had anything to do with Marty launching herself into the abyss last night and roosting in the bottom nest box ??

We have no laws against fireworks they can shoot them all year around. Thank gawd they don't though. My black lab is a big baby and afraid of thunder and guns and fireworks. My chickens don't care. Think I moving the teens out to the coop today it'll be warm and time for them to join the other flock.

Today is not a good day. We just lost one of our llamas. He was 19 years old and had an abscessed tooth that I didn’t catch in time. I knew he hadn’t been acting quite himself the past few weeks, but I was still seeing him eat (or so I thought) and I had checked his body condition a few times. Thursday morning he didn’t stand up when I walked out to feed and give treats so I got him into the vet. (Llama vets are about as hard to find as chicken vets but I found one less than an hour away.) We got him on antibiotics, and I started making mash from his food and squirting some in his mouth several times a day. But I guess he was just too weak and his digestive system must have started shutting down.

I am so sad, and blaming myself for just thinking it was the weather and his age that had him acting a little differently.

I’m so sorry Mac. At least you are with your buddy Boo again (the horse we lost a year ago). We loved you.
