My oldest babies are rhode island reds going on 2 years and i origonaly had 10,but dogs got two and one passed as a chick. Now i only have seven, soon to be six, because we are culling the egg cracking hen. Into the stew pot she goes! the naughty thing.
The younger beauties are different breeds. A rhode island red hatched a barnyard mix egg, the others didn't make it, so we got more. The barnyard gal is called Blackhawk, the Black sex link is Night, the california white is Fidget, the Production red is Maple(a slightly mean hen, but not too bad. She is at the bottom of the the pecking order and really torn up), the younger rir is Autumn, and Pecker, another beat up gal from our tiny silkie roos is an australorp.
