Betty by the panel warmer, smart girl! Is it on? I've kept ours on as they do seem to like it for their after-breakfast digesting session. Or they may just like the spot.

Yeah. I didn't want it filled up with poop. I might change my mind and just put sand or shavings up there and let them have at it.

Oh no - what are the symptoms?

Clear diarrhea, throat gurgling, heavy breathing. Standing around not moving much. Seems thirsty too.
But: she’s walking ok not staggering, seems to be resting comfortably for now.

That's what I do - I just clean off the tops daily and re-bed with shavings. In fact everyone loves it up there so much there are battles for those locations. When I get home after this project I am going to take out the roosts and just put in ledges.

Lately it's been like that at the Hen House also - it's a free for all - anything goes - it got rough there (I think last night..?) when they were all flapping about. At one point Dorothy and Blanche fell on top of poor Marty and all three went crashing to the ground. I guess Marty got to spend the night in the bottom nest box. Crazy kiddos!

Do you have any close to your home? Then you wouldn't have quite the travel challenge and you could be more flexible on the dates.

Performance Poultry is only a 2hr drive from me - so almost next door hahah!

I am going to call them tomorrow and see what they will have for April 13/14 hatch dates... so might get some chicks!
