Spa Day for Sydney
I have really limited the times I interfere in a chicken's grooming. Unfortunately, something had to be done to help poor Sydney. Every egg she lays has been smeared with poop. Not only that, she has been pooping up every other egg in the nest box. So Sunday was determined to be spa day.

Now Sydney is basically untouchable, but you show her a Blueberry and she is right up next to you. A couple of blueberries and a flogging and I had her gathered up.

Of course there is the obligatory weigh in anytime I get my hands on one of them.

2.48 kg, 5.47 lbs

She is down a little from 2.69 kg 5.47 lbs at her last weigh in.

On to the sink.......

Thankfully Eve was here to help.

Then a towel dry and a little TV. Sydney seems to enjoy old westerns.

Then on to the blowout. Once again Eve was a huge help.

All in all a huge success!

What a wonderful place, I want to live there! The dust bath has pretty high walls, good for keeping the dirt in, but it’s easy enough to get in and out? They jump onto the roost bars? Little ones get in that way?

Trust me, NO ONE has trouble getting into/out of it! Not even my Brahma girls!

The extra 'side-walls' I put on it - the girls were flinging way too much of the dirt out of the bath...and this helped significantly. I have one girl who will run to it an hop in and crouch down first thing in the morning (hiding from the Roo till he settles in and stops chasing EVERY. SINLE. GIRL.) I find it hysterical - like a little kid 'hiding in plain site', but it works because the top of the sidewalls are just barely above his head when he stretches his neck out.

She hates shoes, watches, bracelets, any accessories and will not hesitate to peck your teeth as hard as possible. If she starts biting you though you can’t do anything except take it or she will not stop (Til she wins that is)

We're actually going to a swap meet next month where, in addition to the usual antiques and junk, lots of folks have farm animals; goats, ducks...and chickens.

You are bringing a trailer to lug home all of your 'finds', right? Including, but not limited to: Ducks, goats, chickens, chicken furniture, stuff that could become chicken furniture, stuff that is or could become a temporary holding/transporting thing for said chickens and/or ducks. Oh, things that could become cool feeders/waterers/oyster shell dispensers.....

Hmmm, I must have missed something else I could be on the look-out for....
