I remember our rooster used to jump on top of the garage roof. Sadly, I don't have a photo. I'm not sure if our other chickens did this too. Tony, Parmesan and Mozzarella used to jump on top of the fence and go to the other side of the fence. Mozzarella also went into our neighbor's backyard once... That was fun.

I remember my dad telling us about a time when he was a youngster throwing chickens off the hill to see if they could fly…. Apparently they did ! Little wonder…… 😳

Lovely!
One thing that is very striking with my current Princesses is how different they are from Maggie regarding the sun.
Today was a lovely sunny day and I sat in the chicken field and nodded off.
When Maggie was alive she would have been sprawled out in the sun next to me. I woke up and there were no chickens. Of course I was in a panic - but they were all napping in deep shade. Strange.
They are also DARK hens. Absorb the sun more readily and heat up more quickly!
