Clearly you didn't look at all the photos. There is a pair - hen & roo - where BOTH are nearly ALL black. There is variation throughout the breed. She probably came from a different hatchery/breeder, with a different line from the one you got yours at.
Has anyone pointed out that maybe Valarie actually got Exchequer chicks instead of Anconas? That could be why hers look so much like his...

Having said that, hatcheries are pretty good about ensuring people recieved the correct breeds, so Valaries likely are what they claim to be, and so are his.

They are chickens, their poop all smells the same and l bet if you fell down in the barn unconscious they would peck your eyes out 😆

They would peck my eyes out they hurt when they peck me and do it everytime I go into the run.

:D
That's really warm! This is when the chickens wish they could take off their feathers
It's too warm too fast, the other day it was -8 when I got up.

The poor chickens and horses don't know what to think.

The chickrns were not spending too much time in the sun, and after a bit decided the barn was cooler. It's weather like this that stresses livestock.

So, the thermometer hit 70F here on Monday.

Are you sure you're not in Canada???

I see this is heading my way for Monday...

But it's moisture so I am happy for you. Hard on livestock though 🤨

Snowbirds 😁
(Ooooo another great song - snowbird💖)
