How is Wendy doing? Sure hope she is doing well.
She is doing well, pretty much back to normal, doing all the chickeny things. I think today is Day 10 of antibiotics and will be her last day.

She did lose weight though. When I weighted her for dose, she was 3.3 kg (7.3 lbs). She is lighter now when I pick her up, but I don't know her current weight. She was too fat to be honest.

Today at 1pm I will pick them up 🥰.

And this weekend should have the eggs in my friends incubator hatching and come home.
I cannot wait to see your baby chick pictures today. Fingers crossed for a good hatch for the eggs in your friends incubator. I have everything available crossed for the Marty egg(s) to hatch and be girls. I would guess, could very well be wrong as I am not a genetics expert, that they will be black. I have never had the chance, yet, to hatch from black to white parents. That being said, I have hatched with Black to some other color parent and black seems dominate for the most part.

They must have been talking sports at the cooler. Phyllis and Betty are not interested in sports.

Candle then tomorrow then again in a few days time to see if they are progressing. I have read where hens are off them for a couple hrs mid hatching and come back on them and they hatch.

Thinking good thoughts.
I am going to candle them Saturday or Sunday. They will be 12 or 13 days in and if they are viable I should see dancing embryo's. I just have to pray they were not cold to long. If they are gone I have 2 choices. If Goose's eggs are all 4 on track I could pull 2 of hers and give to Gryffyn. Another option is Holly and Momma hens eggs. They are exactly 1 week behind Goose and Gryffyn. I could pull a egg each from them and give to her. Gryffyn is trying so hard and doing everything right I want her to be successful. Option 3 which I absolutely do not want to do, and will not do is buy more chicks. Thinking about it I just want to go strangle Louis. He had left her, and her nest alone for 2 weeks darn him and then pulls that stunt.

I have chicks gonna hatch too! Already have an internal pip. My guess is that most chicks will hatch overnight and in the morning I'm going to have an explosion of chicks.
Even though I HATE going to town, I am so glad that my eyesight is all good. Just a touch nearsighted in my left eye. :)
Can't wait for little chickies to hatch!

Do you have any neighbors with broody hens and are willing to steal an egg or 2 from theirs?

There's more in the forecast. As long as it melts slowly, we're good.
