Every Rock has a dirty bottom tonight. Seems baths are in order for tomorrow. I had to pick some tail fluff tonight!
I don’t know why they got so much poop on their behinds!

I forgot to say that Ginger probably had ascites. She had water belly. I don't think it was a simple sour crop issue, if she had it. :-(

If it helps, there is really no coming back from ascites. It's just a matter of time.

As a heritage breed they should. I believe that @rjohns39 is a Dominique expert. Perhaps he can answer your question definitively.

By the way, see how the chooks are all packed onto the back roost? They have 5 roosts...as many as possible cram onto the back one, and the Roo and the 'late to the party' ones roost on the next one over!

Dunno. You're the only one with Dominiques that I know of on the thread. My sweet girl only hit 12/13 weeks old. I do know the breed was a popular pioneering/homesteading breed so likely they do.

I've heard they're a popular homesteading breed. None of ours have gone broody. Or fishing.
Dominica is big enough to the point where I think she would make a great screaming broody pancake.
