Mr. P, would you be kind enough to come to California, spend time with my hens and maybe straighten them out? You don’t have to stay long. Jaffar is just not doing his job well enough lately. :(

Good idea - I have one we use outside and I could try that. I was also looking at those 'bug zappers' that fry the little devils when they come in contact. I imagine a bunch of fried bugs on the floor of the Palace could be breakfast for the Princesses. It is just I don't really like keeping something electric on in the Palace (or really anywhere outdoors) if I am not there to suprevise.
Get the princesses a chicken sized gun to shoot the mosquitoes. The zapper is too dignified.

Poor Jaffar - is he getting to be an elderly little gentleman?

It is my hope that one of the ladies will get broody, hatch out a nice little Roo for him to train up - dreams can come true ♥️💕

I know you are hoping for a broody hen soon. Do you know anybody who has a incubator? It might be time to think of incubating some eggs yourself if you wish to have some of Jaffar's offspring. I wish you were closer, I would hatch them out myself for you. At this point I could even give them to a Broody to hatch and rear as Bunny has went broody in the last week.

I encouraged both Momma's to let their chicks out to stretch their legs today. Gryffyn was not interested at all. Goose allowed hers out of the tote for about 30 minutes before she insisted it was time for them to come back in. I did let Gryffyn out first as I do not want both momma's out at the same time to prevent a fight over chicks. Once Gryffyn clearly demonstrated she was not bringing them out and about I blocked her and got Gooses out. After I put Goose's chicks back in the tote from her I unblocked Gryffyn again and shut the coop door and left them alone thinking she might bring them out. When I put everyone up for the night it looks like she may have had them a few steps outside her tote, if that. It is better then yesterday where neither momma wanted their chicks out and about.
Branch finally gets to visit, from a distance. I think it somewhat satisfied him.
Gryffyn walked a little bit and dug around the entrance, did not encourage or want her chicks out. If they came out she went back in the tote and called for them so I let her be.
Goose was a little different this time. She settled down and dug around in the back corner for a time. But once she decided they were done, they were done. I am also happy to say while watching them I can no longer pick out the chick that had the curled toes. They completely straightened out and it moves around great.
This next one is long. Grandma Chiquita came to visit the chicks. Well, she is also mother to the chipmunk chick. I swear she was the epitome of a "This is how you do this and the baby needs that" grandma. She looked, talked a little bit to either Goose or the chicks, and once satisfied went on her way. Interestingly enough she ignored Gryffyn and her 2.
Amazing chick videos. I love mama hens I wish I had one :(

I can just imagine what this chick is thinking:

either:

Human, I've got my eye on you!

or:

Human where's the treats?

By any chance, is this Peanut?
