My sister is like Josephine's eggs. Soft and kind on one side but sharp and pointy on the other.
I almost thought it was an alien chicken. Here’s a nice, clean fluffy butt for you all. And green legs! This is my first chicken with green feet. I think they’re so cute!

I still have trouble with PITA and Blanche (they're 2 at the end of the month) unless I can see their combs....and they have splash marks that differ. Lark and Indigo are just as bad and they're a year old. Nox and Mera are a little easier, and Belladonna and Primula I don't mix up at all....watch that change when they moult...Yes. Very easily. I never had to use the green food dye. I am having more trouble with the two black ones even though one has tassels on her legs and the other doesn't.
We lived right by a freeway in CA. Not sure the air was that clean by our house, but it sure had the most beautiful view ever. If I could take my chooks, if I had a lot of money, and if I was old enough to buy the house back I would. But then I would not have a lot of land to expand on, so I will have to stick with Texas. And the dust. And the colds it gave me. Like the one I have right now.Fires around here are under control, but smoke is drifting in. We’re still in the “Unhealthy” AQI range.

I am so glad to hear that Eli's mysterious imbalance issue is almost gone. It does sound like she is broody.I am thinking Eli is broody but incompetent.
She came out, ate, drank, dust bathed and delivered the motherload of all poop. She ate some Artemesia and some grass and then headed back to the nest boxes. But she forgot which one she was in so now she is sitting on Babs’ egg from this morning rather than the two ceramic eggs she has been caring for all week.
She fell over once when she was heading back to the nest boxes but otherwise managed to stay upright and in control of her movements.
My kiddos are asleep under the plate first time all dayMama broody would have them out and about. Last year, Jessica came off the nest with whichever one hatched under her (Lark or Indigo) on a cloudy, windy day of about 55F. I don't know what time she came off the nest with her, but she was out and up by the fenced garden when I got home from work....and was out for at least an hour that I saw.
The "experts" aren't always correct.
Allergies most likely - like me right now - sniffle sniffle sniffle… cough sniffle…. Sneeze! We lived right by a freeway in CA.
