So far she has very few feathering, just her wings, an almost non existent tail, and still baby fuzz everywhere else. She is different from Sophia’s babies (Tippy and Rico).Ahhhh! And a partial crest....hmmm...Penne may be 3/4 crested: big enough to provide a stylish hat, small enough to not interfere with her eyesight (maybe). I'm even more intrigued with her!
I was just thinking of her today! How is she getting on?Goldie enjoying the mild weatherView attachment 3513929
All those nice bugs crawling all over that horse manureI spoke too soon and was looking in the wrong direction View attachment 3513962View attachment 3513963She went to visit down below instead.
Martina at approx same age (and she is 1/2 silkie). So far she has very few feathering, just her wings, an almost non existent tail, and still baby fuzz everywhere else. She is different from Sophia’s babies (Tippy and Rico).
I seem to feel that the three Tweens were more feathered, and larger at her age. I wonder if it has something to do with being broody raised rather then hand raised.
I am so glad she is doing so well! She's doing well. We're going to move her outside tonight in a small pen with her daughter. This way she can free range every day and be with chickens again.
Yeah it isBroodies keep their distance most of the time: protecting their chicks. She's coming to your place for food. Big step. Is the coop open so she can investigate on her own?
