She is my only one with wattles so I am trying for a pullet with wattles, so far Tippy isn’t showing much of a comb or any wattles (full sister to Rico)

Give it time. Early comb & wattles tends to indicate cockerel...which you don't want - so be patient, my friend, be patient!

I would be afraid to run over their feet. They like to go right by the wheels on my chair.

Bolt is always right in front of me, so she gets her feet stepped on everyday, usually multiple times

Sometimes I get my feet stepped on. Josey used them as a launch pad. Ow.

Is she new to laying?
Several of ours laid eggs like that with extra stuff on them.

Oh no, she is my oldest hen.
I'm not talking about the stuff on it. Her nest is a ground nest so it gets a bit wet when it rains a lot- which it has.
I'm talking about how late she laid. I thought that healthy hens are supposed to lay not later than roughly 3 PM.

Maybe she just felt like laying it then. Nice and cool outside depending on where you are.

Evening. It was about 67-70% today. Pretty chilly compared to the 90's it's been all week.

6weeks and no sign of anything so I am hopeful for both her and Martina
