Thanks for this! With my first chickens, I ordered a Speckled Sussex, but got a Welsummer. My lovely Rosa.

We had ordered a Welsummer and the hatchery random chicken. It was either a Welsummer or a Blue Orpington. I ended up with Abigail the Speckled Sussex even though I wanted a Welsummer. I ended up really loving little Abigail, who is now this 5 pound bird who thinks she is a pigeon 🙄.

Ummmm, that orange starting around Mazzie's neck is sending up a possible red flag with me (I even went back and checked the pics again). Its too early to really determine, but it has me wondering. (I don't know silkies for beans, other than they're cute as a button, so take this with a large grain of salt).
Trust me I see that orange starting. I was shocked to see it, it took taking a picture with flash for it to appear. In person I do not see it. I have been wary of this chick since the minute it hatched with the pattern so close to Ezzie's. I have remained hands off to a extent. I could so easily fall for it, and I do not want to do that to another rooster.

Splotch would do that!
So would Abigail. If I do not feed worms they also shake off inside.

It is ok laugh away. Sylvie may have won the fugly title for 2 days max. Mazzie will hang onto it for a few weeks now. Such is the life of a silkie chick.
I am leaning towards a filly, something about the way she is standing makes me think filly.

I really like her colour 💕
