Door just got propped open. The big yellow was out too.
Oh they are so cute when just hatched - can't wait to see what antics they get up to! Chicks are fun (says the lady who has them flying out of trees, and hears for them flying at people's heads!).

Martina gets prettier every single day. I do not know why, but when imagining a chick between Mr. P and Marty, I never expected this color combo. I am in love and still think girl.
Yes the colour is just throwing me also. I was thinking more of a black, maybe with some sort of pencilling, or highlights of light colour.

I wonder what she will be once she matures?

(RC is going to say a chicken I just know it... haha)

Raven was set on Mothers Day evening. So in theory if the hens read the hatching chicks 101 manual she should hatch this Sunday. Like the rest of my hens she did not read that manual. 1 egg is externally pipped.
Awwww - more babies! I found that with all the eggs hatching here this Spring they were all around 18, 19 and 20 days. Only a couple were past day 22 (the school chicks had a late arrival).

I said blue, not purple.
Well look at this - these chicks are 5 weeks old now - this is Penne. Should I cry? That's wattles right? the comb is not as developed as Rico at that age...

We are all doing well, thank you! I had a scare woth Flash, who was laying soft eggs, a couple weeks back, but she comes to me when I call her each morning for her calcium pill and a cuddle.
Hopefully she is back to laying normal eggs.

Dare I ask about chicks???
(I am afraid to ask)
