Happy Caturday everyone.
The 2 new kitties Trixie and Penny now follow me everywhere when I do chicken chores. If I go in the coop to clean or gather eggs, they are in, checking on momma's and chicks they are under my feet. My stalkers have noticed this. They used to relentlessly chase them every chance they got. Now we have a truce between them. They have not chased them out of the backyard in 3 days. They have now joined CeeCee in pouting. CeeCee's favorite game was treeing the longhaired kitten Penny who used to be called smokey up the mimosa tree. Chickens are smart I tell you, this would not have happened 2 weeks ago.

Good Pony Sunday all

Today it’s cooler and the smoky air has cleared, everyone is feeling frisky, so I let them out on the lawn area for a bit, but the mosquitoes drove them back to the run and barn.

My school chicks have truly mastered flying and climbing the spruce tree. Much to the consternation of the Robins and Blackbirds hahahaha. Even Tippy is now up in that tree.

I am still trying to spray the weeds in the paddocks but the wind has been so high, and I have to wait till the dew evaporates so a very tight window before that happens and the wind picks up. Don’t want the spray to blow out onto the trees and kill them!

Here are Reenie and Truly in my Buttercup field of gold. Too bad they are a noxious weed they sure are lovely like this.

No ponies for Sunday, but a puppy that is large enough to be a small pony!

And chicken drama:

I was too late (had to go to the house to get the camera!)...but that egg showing is from the red hen.

BR: Hey, what are you doing?
ISA: I need to lay my egg!!
BR: Well, bugger off, go next door!
ISA: But this is the nest box I ALWAYS lay in...you gotta let me lay - you go next doo!
BR: But mom kicked me outta that nest box last night, so I snuck in here.
ISA: But you are just hoggin it..let. me. lay.
BR: I'm thinking about being broody - gotta test it for sure.
ISA: Well, I can't hold it anymore - here comes!

(She was straddling the BR...laid it right on her & it rolled into the nest box beside her!

Her singing the egg song announcing her accomplishment. No boys came to escort her out, though.

Same here, if it wasn’t for Fluffy and Curly I would be hand raising those chicks!
