Ok, coffee is brewed and I have my first cup of bliss. While brewing I went ahead and moved Raven and the chicks. They are spending the morning in the coop thanks to heavy rains. Everyone is a week old now and thankfully it has been over 24 hours since I lost a chick. As I gave a preview of last time yesterday I tried to get comb shots of the marshmallows to use for Mugs Monday. I thought getting good in-focus of black chickens was hard. Hah, I will photograph a black chicken any day and not have as much trouble as I did with white chickens in the sun.
Happy mugs from the Marshmallows.

Now the Marshmallows were uncooperative, digging was much more important then holding still and lifting their head up for just 2 seconds. I resorted to making noises and acting like a idiot to get their attention.
Chiquita clearly thought I had lost my mind....and she was right, I looked like a fool.

Butter came around and showed them how it is done, of course they did not pay attention.

The chickens stomp on the black keyboard that is sitting on the red bag. And they are ruining it. I am tired of having to unplug it all the time.

So I dug out the thrift store keyboard. It is a wireless Apple keyboard and works well enough for me. Now I can just move it out of the way when the chooke visit me.
👍

Good idea!

Got some tax for that? How about those chicks they must be huge by now!

Reminds me of when taking photos of the horses hahaha jumping up and down trying to get eat up 😆

And now the chickens are even worse! And forget treats! All I get is mobbed by them.

That second hoot POW worthy ❤️😊💕

Agathae would prefer it if I did not share this photo of her with one feather sticking out of her tuft.

I don't blame her, poor girl! It makes me thing of a kid with bed-head. Oh, the horror of it being shown publicly!🫣🫣

Love that Second shot with the dark background! Very Artsy looking - should submit that one for POW aw well.

Oh, and great modelling by Butter. Maybe she could give Martina some pointers as she embarks on her journey to challenge Phyllis as Queen of the Cat-Walk???

P.S. Chiquita - she has lost her marbles - most of us chook people have at one time or another - lets face it, we let you guys rule a big portion of OUR lives!:lau:lau:lau

Mugs Monday

Took these yesterday as I knew today would be a wash-out with heavy miserable chilly rain.

These are the School Chicks, Hatched 08 May 2023, they are 5 weeks old now.

Also any suggestions on GENDER?

Hard to get photos (as Rebecca can attest to) they don't want to sit still!

I have about plenty of pictures that turned out like this. All it took was just a little bit of sunshine and movement from them.

Hmmmm, are you sure you didn't work for one of those ghost hunting shows? Sure looks like an attempted mirage to me!

'Do you believe? I will make you believe!'
