Well not very ladylike if we are honest. Much too much shouting and flying around.
Well, they no longer have a mum to chastize them and keep them somewhat in line!

I must say, while the whole thing made me cry (your wonderful tribute to Eli) - and rejoice (is that possible - both at the same time?) I was so heart - warmed by the part stating that Babs hoped down from the roost in the middle of the night to check on Eli...and then again an hour later. To me, that shows the love/caring they shared, and helps me to know she didn't really pass alone, and was let know by all that she was loved (you and her chicken friends and adopted chicks.) :hugs 🥰:hugs 🥰:hugs🥰:hugs

So lovely and I am sure true; animals are far more intelligent than most believe.

Yes, I do. Jailbroken iPhone, laptop rigged up to a monitor for a media center, a dock to turn my main laptop into a desktop, not to mention using a Apple keyboard to control the non-Apple laptop that runs Linux.
Frankenstiening your electronics gets more life out of them sometimes.
Oh, did I mention the Fire tablet that no longer runs amzn software? It runs LineageOS now. (RoyalChick would make a comment about wanting to remain uneducated on the topic).
My dell notebook went to h&@@. Black screen after 5 minutes on :barnie

You still have it? Can you explain that a little better? Did the Dell logo appear and then it went to a black screen, or did it just stay on a black screen the second you pushed the power button?
Dell laptops are not that great. I have a old Latitude E6230 that I used up until last year. The thing was practically falling apart when I bought my used Lenovo ThinkPad x260.

With Eli no longer around to teach them I think it is time the Pentagonists were encouraged to roost. It is ridiculous having five chickens their size all piled into a cardboard cat food tray!
I already removed the brooder plate it was sitting on so it is lower (I turned the plate off weeks ago of course) but that didn't phase them.
Maybe I will give them another couple of nights so I don't feel like I am throwing the little orphans out onto the streets!
Can you gently carry them to a roost after dark? A couple of nights of that and they will learn to roost properly.

Everything boots up but after around three to five minutes the screen goes black. Everything else is still running.

That is odd. I have never heard of such a thing. I'm gonna have to do some online digging.
You could plug it into a TV. If the same thing happens there maybe your GPU is dying.
If you can, stick your eye up to the screen when it goes black and tell me if it appears to be lit but just blank.
