Not really babies anymore are they? More like wee little chickens 💕

I haven't heard of these before......going to have to check into them. Getting the flies like that would be great too!
I think that is what I have to farm insects for the ladies. I'll have to check.

This a new waterer that tractor supply is selling which grows up with you chicks. The legs can be folded all the way in, unfolded to have that height, or all the way like that one is. I got it to test it out. I had to enlarge the hole which let the water out as it was too shallow for my grown ladies.
That might be a good thing for chicks, though! - that it is shallow. Let me know what you think of it (after using it for a while). i.e. how sturdy are the legs? do they collapse? is the 2+ inches enough to keep the dirt out? etc.
❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you!

I am just missing Eli. She rounded them all up when she wanted to go in. I never really noticed how important that was to me being able to close up for the night.
Now they are running wild without parental oversight!

Tiny fluffy butts, Brownie is laying again and seems to mostly ignores the littles. They still follow her though around though when they are out foraging.

Bonus cute tween pics and video. Notice the color pattern difference? I suspect I have two Roos and three pullets. Lore has clear red big comb and wattle development. Story has a big comb but no red and no wattles yet. But the color patterns seem to seal the deal. If anyone has any guesses on this I’d love to hear them.

Love it when they run/hop/fly all at once!:love:love

That seems pretty early for her to abandon them - they aren't even fully feathered out yet! Please remind me, how many weeks are they? Mine are just at about 3.5 weeks and, while they have a bit of baby fuzz here and there - they are essentially feathered out and could handle nights on their own - especially if they sniggled together. That said, Orps do tend to grow slower - and these are 'mutts'.

They will all be beautiful - I can't wait to see what the boys look like when they are fully feathered out!

Good morning to all of you. I need help. I’m being smothered by a Rock who chooses to lay down on my face.
I could call emergency services, but I’m afraid that Bob could get here faster than the County can!
This is all I see at the moment: image.jpg
