A middle ground suggestion, shipped eggs often end up with detached air cells. Because of the precariousness of shipped eggs. I used a method that sounded right for me and my incubator to reattach the ones that were clearly detached then incubated them till lock down. Then gave them to Brownie to hatch out. Maybe this would work for you too? What are you doing, no roos no. I already promised mom no more silkie roos. Pullets people, I need pullets. I am going to ask her advice. I have a empty incubator. I also have a very stubborn broody hen who is just waiting for me to give up trying to break her and let her have eggs. I could relent, give Perdita a store egg tonight and stop all attempts to break her and give her the eggs 24 or 48 hours after they arrive. Decisions, Decisions.
You likely have your own method for handling shipped eggs. If you by chance do not, feel free to PM me. I researched somewhat obsessively with mine
