I'm in love! Splotches chick has made a pip! I looked at the eggs, and I saw its beak and a little bit of black chick fluff 😍😍 I hope I have a chick by morning! Haha, @Ponypoor, I wish I were more patient but this brain has been worrying nonstop. I hardly got any sleep last night worrying about BBQ, and the chicks.
BBQ is getting a foot bath right now. Here is a picture of her foot that I just took.

Be careful, the ring looks like it’s putting pressure on the foot making reddened areas.

It’s looking great though, keep up the awesome work 😊

Yes by morning you should have a chick, maybe a couple if lucky! ❤️❤️

Here is the egg.
Ack, my voice is so high on video. It sounds so weird!
I've got babies here too. Tomatilla the broody hatched one black cockerel this morning. I lifted Tomatilla up like I usually do to check the number of eggs under her to make sure none of them have been eaten or pooped on. There was a little black peeper. A close inspection of the comb told me it was a boy. I have another pip.

Only one thing went wrong with the whole incubation. That thing is called:
STUPID BANANITO
She went up there yesterday, shooed Tomatilla off her nest by a series of extremely hard pecks (Tomatilla is a very gentle, docile, hen) and ate Knokalina's egg with a developing chick inside, and ate the chick. Not fair. Had I known yesterday, I would have had roast Bananito for supper, I was so angry.

Anyway that pipped chick will most likely hatch tonight or tomorrow morning. So excited!

BTW Bananito ate the egg as they were going into lockdown.

Congratulations 😊 but try not to handle those eggs while they are pipping.

And cannot wait to see what hatches 🥰🥰
I just wanted to show you guys! I'm so eggcited!
When I was hatching my guineas last summer, I was very careful not to hold the pipped eggs unless needed.
I'm so eggcited! I really hope that Willow does okay during the hatching process...
I really hope that I get more pips soon, but I'm not going to count on it because it's a scattered hatch. It would be nice for them to be a few days from each other.

I just realised that I repeated a lot of stuff.... just shows how eggcited I am!!

No you don’t want them scattered by a few days, the hen needs to take the chicks off the nest for food and water so she will abandon any eggs not hatched.

Hopefully during the night more pip ❤️❤️❤️
