I wait for healing to occur. Usually a few weeks after surgery.
I’m not sure if altitude pressure difference is a factor or not, but I play it safe with my eyes.

Pressure differential is a problem for any one who is a scuba diver. A bad tooth filling (with an air pocket) will explode in the mouth! FYI I have seen this happen!

Once again, no I do not have a favorite. She is also not jealous when the other chicks hop up on me. Ok, I am lying, and I cannot hold another chick without her hopping up and getting closer to me. Little Owly had her first initiation to tv time.
If someone says she is looking like a boy I will hurt them.

Thank you Raven for your tolerance of me. Broody raised and every single one of these chicks are in your face friendly right at 3 weeks old. I do not think they could even be more people friendly even if I had brooded them myself.

The three silkie girls are pretty good, though that white one is wild! Penne is getting very hands off now that he has become a boy and he knows it.

But the school chicks are hands down the most friendly

So um, you took a chance and got at least 1 Marans......right?

Yup. 4 BR 'pullets' (I'm questioning 1), 2 BO pullets, and 4 Marans Straight run. And 3 of the 4 have fuzzy legs I am crossing my fingers for 2 of the 4 Marans to be pullets, but who knows!
