I like how fireworks look-- but seriously! Thank goodness I live in a rural area so not much fireworks here.Fireworks…?
Not sure why people didn’t get the memo that the whole province of Ontario is under a restricted ban for all open air fires and burning which includes fireworks! I bet the police are busy tonight.
Inconsiderate people who risk bush fires, hope they give them very steep fines. Even though we had rain it isn’t enough to wet the old undergrowth, add to that the fact that much of our fire fighting resources (people and equipment) are up fighting fires in northern Ontario, Alberta, BC and Quebec. If we have fires here there is limited resources to deal with it.
Not to mention the fact that it freaks out my poor horses and chickens, and I don’t like it either. Really wish they would just ban them outright in this township. I know many farmers who’d be happy if there was a complete ban - they won’t be chasing cattle who are spooked, out on the road.

Your synopsis makes perfect sense. Parking is highly priced, where access to the lake and river swimming areas are. When we lived down by the lake, we were the second house up from the lake - the concession road ended at the lake. We had so many people in the summer parking their vehicles blocking our driveway, blocking the roadway. The police would come and ticket and haul the vehicles away. Didn't stop them though. People from the city who wanted to have access to the lake to swim, boat... picnic! We all kept fencing up on our properties to prevent people from parking on and picnicing on our lands.
Same in the winter with ice fishing. I would get so bad that the police would close the road and prevent people from driving down the road unless you could prove you lived there.
While I do feel bad that people couldn't enjoy the water like I could, it just wasn't possible for people to all come to the area. This is why there are provincial parks, and there are plenty in my area - of course you do have to pay a day use fee... which is far cheaper than the police tickets I am sure!

Yes and landowners not wanting 14,000 people inundating their peace and quiet.Your synopsis makes perfect sense. Parking is highly priced, where access to the lake and river swimming areas are.
It’s all about money I guess.
Awlll, I am sorry that Peevy was inaccurate on the breeds, but they are adorable whatever they are. Your sweet girl looks pleased with herself and those chicklets, so original mission accomplished at leastNew new kids on the block
They are cute, but I am sure they are not Bielefelders or legbar, likely olive Eggers or some type of blue egger.
But cute none the less

Yes, she is just over a year old. We have 2 "low cost" spay/neuter places here, but they have been solidly booked since i started calling in February. Regular vets are charging almost 300.00 for a spay which is just not possible for us right now. I feel irresponsible for "letting" it happen, but she is a very good mama. Despite her still being somewhat wild she did choose to have them here, if in a nearly inaccessible spot in the garage.Awwww adorable! Is this mama kitties first litter? They sure are cute![]()

I now have 4 Roos crowing here, went out to clobber Penne for crowing so much, I was even laughing at how his crow sounded so funny, I was doing something non the barn….
Imagine my dismay to see Martin crowing up a storm.
