Oh I meant to ask about your chicks you bought.

Do they look like mine? I am trying to figure out what they are. Prairie Blue Bells?

EDIT - are they from Hoovers?
Didn't buy any chicks. The 6 I brought home hatched in MIL'S incubator, mostly from my eggs. The eggs were on their way over when the Big Fight happened. I'm pretty sure Havoc is from her eggs. The rest from my crew. Shan is from either Primula or Belladonna (more likely) and probably Kren. Zulu is looking more and more like he's a Lark or Indigo back-crossed to Cheetah. Tuff is from Pippa, Maizie, or Thing (the beard: no crest/5 toes so she's less likely) and not a clue on the papa. Tuff is sporting a comb much like Rico's which does make me think Thing (only one with v-comb). Enigma is an enigma and I have zero idea on parentage. Chia (due to same face markings) I'm taking a wild stab and suggesting Pear as mama (penciled similar to dark brahmas but red based rather than silver/black).

Currently 6 weeks old, so lots of time to change their feathers....again...

More roos, more better. I love hearing all our boys in the morning. Most manly sounding roo is Cholo Jr. Least manly belongs to the dominant rooster of the rascals. 😆 noisiest roo is Viejito. Quitest roo is Chinito, I honestly don't know what he sounds like. Cholo 4 isn't crowing yet, interested to hear what he sounds like.
I have four out of the 8 crowing - Mr P and Rico are the noisiest, Floyd rarely, and Penne sometimes, Penne is a hoot - he tidbits and no one listens to him - and he find great bugs! He much nicer to the gals than Rico, I think because he was broody raised with the flock.

Floyd is good with the ladies also. Rico is sneaky now, he knows Mr P will pummel him.

The rest of the Roos are too small-young being the school chicks: Diamond, Seagull, Spot, oh hey maybe it’s only 7.

So I had 7 pullets and 3 cockerel from the school hatch.

Gosh! 6 weeks already?! Wow it sure doesn’t take long does it ❤️ I love Havocs colouring, how many do you think are pullets/Roos?

Watch your boys closely. The one who will be the best fit to stay with Mr. P. will reveal himself to you. I know right now which one I would keep but your flock so you have to judge that for yourself. I am going to silently sit back and root for a certain boy....not naming names.

What’s up with your eggs?

You have to not dwell on the negatives but on the positives. There is an old saying “you have to take the good with the bad”.

Yes there are many sad things in life, but there are also wonderful things. The smallest thing can make you laugh (like Penne trying to breed my foot 😆), I don’t dwell on a negative thing, going down that road will just make you reinforce sadness. Accept the sad things and embrace the wonderful things.

Pep talk tax

How is your friends horse?

Here are the silkie chicks sharing supper with Reenie and the school chicks picking through Lulus poops.

❤❤❤ I am a quite positive person. Just there is so much loss. It is easy to just sucked into the negativity.

The horse is not doing well. He is at an emergency vet in the "horse town," in Florida a few hours away.
Apparently he is the worst case the vet has ever seen, and they think that it is from a snake bite. Even if he does make it, it will be 6+ months of recovery.

Darn more weather whining tax and it isnt even winter!

My pretty boy Floyd 😁

Pretty Boy Floyd was a bank robber. Better be careful, he'll be taking over the joint!
Nope.. I actually like the cold.
Me too! Not Canada cold though. But the fact is, you can always put on more clothes. There's a limit to how many you can take off. 😆

The chicks are nestled all snug in their nest. Time for this chicken granny to hit the hay!
