Yep I do that too, 'holy jumping toads'! or 'you little turnip' hahaha otherwise it used to be my nieces tattling on me 'mom aunt kelly is swearing again!' brats!
Exactly... I do that too. There are so many times when I want to swear on here, but since BYC has rules against foul language, I don't use them. I make up my own.

Well, I recolied and smashed into something just like a cat...
Don't think Pastel bashed her run into oblivion.
Haha I may have bashed my run! I'm going to go out there soon to check for any chewed through areas from that stupid monster, (not me, lol)

Oh, and the spider I know. He was in a guinea coop before I left for vacation.
I'm not AS scared as him. I might try to kill him though.
He is a garden spider. Super scary!

"You contrary, obstinate, obnoxious, argumentative, disagreeable, piece of junk" at inanimate objects that aren't functioning properly.

Yes, yes, I know, but Pastel probably did crash into something as she ran in her epic flight from the spider! :gigBut probably so did you as you ran on your epic flight from the wasp! It's probably not funny, but here's my trick with wasps: don't get scared of them! They'll know you're scared and sting you. A month ago, I was getting back from the chicken coop, and I was about to get my egg basket, when I saw a wasp sitting on the handle. I screamed and ran away. The wasp chased me and stung me. Thankfully I'm not allergic to wasp stings but still it hurt. A week ago there was a wasp on the porch railing. I decided that being scared of a little insect was cowardice and I held still as the wasp landed on me, then flew away. Kind of scary but it's worth it in the end.
As the child of a hobbyist bee keeper, here are the "rules" for being around stinging insects.

1. Loud noises and sudden movements scare them. Scared stingers attack as first line of self defense.

2. Bees stingers have a barbed tip. They can only sting once. It will kill them. Wasps stingers have a smooth tip. They can pull it out and sting again. Some of them also bite (yellow jackets).

3. Red/vibrant colors attract bees. Blue/muted colors do not.

4. If stinging insects are around, move slowly and quietly, not suddenly or jerkily.

5. Speak softly and in lower register tones. Loudly or higher registers are threatening.

6. Do not step right in front of the hive entrance. You're a threat.

7. Anything threatening the queen is attacked. Protect the queen at all costs.

8. Death to hive members emits a pherome the rest of the hive can detect. Killing a bee or wasp leaves the pherome on you and can be considered a threat.

9. Aerodynamically, they shouldn't be able to fly, but they can. Water unbalances them so they can't. As such they WILL NOT fly during a rain storm.

10. Chickens (and other insect eating creatures) won't generally eat honey bees.

Hi folks. I don’t quite have it dialed in yet, as the latest dripper drips too fast and I don’t have a timer yet. However, I took a couple photos of what I have so far.

Here is the water filter and pressure regulator coming off a hose manifold.

Here is a second pressure regulator coming off the garden hose, where it meets the main line. I used a T-swivel, but one side is still crimped and doesn’t have anything coming off of it (yet). I used lots of teflon tape here.

Here is where one dripline and one mini soaker hose are coming off the main line.

Here is a 1/2 GPH (gallons per hour) dripper clamped to a water bowl. I think it’s dripping way too fast. I don’t know if this one is faulty so I may swap it out.

At first, I accidentally bought in-line drippers and here is one in a different water bowl.

Here is where the run floor was damp from where the soaker had been laying on the ground.

I brushed away some litter to show how nicely the soaker really worked. This would be a nice cool spot for the chickens to dig in.

Once I have everything dialed in, I’ll probably clamp the main line in place to the base boards. I will probably get a timer, too.

I may add one of these filters to the hose that runs the mister, as we have really hard water and I tire of swapping out the little brass nozzles when they clog.
Thanks for posting! I was curious how it was going to go. I have misters set up, and they do a great job cooling the area, but the chickens hate them so much... But they come back to the wet run when they're done running. So the soaker sounds awesome. I have these Orbit 62056 things, they're on sale right now.
