Besides REAL beauty is on the inside - and Rosie has that in spades! Real beauty never fades - it lasts as long as the life within does - and that is SOOOO MUCH MORE precious than external beauty. I know, as a teen it is hard to see and accept that - but soon enough she will understand the truth to that statement.
Absolutely. Beautiful young people are accidents of nature. Inner beauty is something people make themselves. And Rosie has it. :hugs
there used to be a random boulder on the side of the road (at least 3' high), I used to ride my horse past it for years. Then one day that boulder went missing....
We used to walk past Big Rock. It was sometimes the turnaround point in our dog walk. Then, after 25 years, it disappeared! Then we walked to Big Rock Memorial Caldera. And that too disappeared.

Princess is being a pain to get in from the front garden. My gardener told me we have grasshoppers now. That explains pusscat jumping around like a kangaroo. What next, I ask myself drop bears maybe 🤔
The grasshoppers are not to be found this year - think too much rain.

But there are other juicy delights for the chickens to enjoy!

Hmmm - the case of the disappearing rocks - if they had wings I would suggest a big red bowl - to get them back! It gives them wings apparently :)

Well, there I was checking to see what eggs I have and I went to go into the Azur's pen singing 'Everything is beautiful, in it's own way....'

BWLACK SQUAKKKKKKKK BWAAAAAAK!

WTH!

I squat poor Fluffy in the doorway of the Azur's pen as I was shutting it, she squeezed in between my feet again (insert swear word here), needless to say I was freaked out and jumped back letting her run in completely, I ran after her, but she is was more agile and swift than I am - what a BRAT.

Anyways I got furious and said fine you twit - STAY IN HERE I AM DONE BEING A NICE HUMAN.

Now she is in there squawking up a storm wanting to lay an egg, darn that hen. sheesh.

Chiiiiickens.......... I am sure they are smarter than I am, and I am sure they get a kick out of seeing me staggering around chasing them! Of course if I don't chase them they march right into my office and jump up on the back of my chair scaring the crap out of me when I am working (thanks Eli-too!).
Let me get this straight, you slam your chook in the door, chase your others around, and you are not being a nice human? Shame on you! 🤦‍♂️

It has now been 48 hours since a hen fight and my flock has a new queen. I thought yesterday the matter was settled and today when I threw out some scraps to the chickens I realized it finally was. Raven has firmly established herself as head of my flock. I tossed out cornbread, pineapple chunks and half a pork chop tore up from them. She firmly planted herself right in the middle of the prize food pile and ate her fill. No one was allowed to snatch a bite until she had finished half of it herself then she allowed the others to come share. Holly was there, and she did not even try to bully her way in until Raven allowed the others to start eating. Most importantly Raven held all the hens at bay without a single peck. She simply ran up to the pile and all the hens backed away. Finally after almost 3 weeks of uproar and chaos peace has returned to my flock. Now that the new queen has been crowned I am curious. Will my faithful trusted broody hang up her hat for rearing chicks.

Long live Queen Raven!
