I inadvertently lost my reading glasses. They were hanging on my collar. I went outside to look for them and asked the chooks if they had seen anything strange in the yard? Jaffar made a grunting sound and at his feet right under him was my glasses. (As if he was guarding them for me ). He’s such a good rooster, aka item location expert!

So I can no longer hold out hope that Tres will be a pullet. At 7 weeks, he has clear wattles as well as a significant comb. I'm rather sad. I've eaten lots of chickens, but never one I've known since he was an egg. Manny has too few females already so two roos will be out of the question. I might see if anyone wants him, but since he's a mutt, that's probably not likely. Darn.

Speaking of roos, Mr. Manfred must be starting to molt. There are LOTS of white feathers all over. But he still looks handsome and feathery.

I'll try to get pics of fluffy butts later, but at 103° expected high, I won't be out there much. It's supposed to be 85 for the high tomorrow. Crazy weather.

9 days, Rosie made it 9 days into the school year before she came down with Rhinovirus. She has been out of school since Tuesday. Had a handle on it and thought it was just a cold until yesterday afternoon she spiked a fever and her chest locked up on her. Been to the doctor this morning and 2 shots later confirmed Rhino which has turned into bronchitis or as he called it "her old friend". Let's hope this is not a sign of how the rest of the year will play out.

Hmmm, something is wrong with Eve's cars. It needs a couple more gears- - Lamborghinis are supposed to be fast! Ha, ha, ha.

I suspect she would be very dangerous in that car if it was fast.....a cutie pie in a fast car...watch out world!!!
