Vet trip for Anna today, am waiting for them to tell me when they can see her. She seems no worse but no better. She did open her eyes and walk around the ledge of the puppy playpen, & eat several bites of crumbles when I offered the dish. Walked a little more as if she was thinking about jumping down to drink but decided not to and went back to resting. I shringef her about .30 mil of sugar water, then made a drench dose of Corid and gave her that, then another .50 mil of sugar water.

Will take all the Spuds with her. Decided I needed to band them to easily tell them apart now that a medical issue has come up. Tentative names are Tedi (blue band, calm and tuneful chick), Ida (green band, calm enough but doesn't tolerate long handling, prefers to be freestanding on my wrist, shoulder, head) and Anna (yellow band, very calm too).

Anna talks but peeps very faint peeps. Fought me pretty well getting her beak open. She's preened a little, stretched her leg and wing, "sunbathed" and moved further from or closer to the warm panel as she needs it. She wants darkness though.

This might be hers from last night, it was under where she was roosted

These are from the others I think

But then these appeared later on top of both, left and right, and it might be hers, or not. She was on that roost resting but the other two were moving around everywhere. Rats, this might be a good reason for keeping them near each other but not in the exact same quarters.
Anyway, Ida and Tedi are drinking Corid water, at the therapeutic dose of 1.5 tsp Corid 20% powder per gallon of water.

I hope the vet can find out what's going on. I actually find the poops much less worrying than her attitude on the pictures you took yesterday.
I would think it's probably too late for isolation now in regard to spreading disease, however if you need to monitor exactly what she poops and eats and drink it would make it easier. I don't like too much the idea of separating young ones unless really necessary.
Let's hope she can pull through this 🤞.

Have a nice week everyone!

I'm wondering about this winter too. Hubby would love a "hard" winter with lots of snow. Me, not so much. I'll be ordering some new filter material to put over the openings in the coop to cut the drafts down. I also lower the roosts a few inches to keep the airflow above the chickens' heads.

I put clear shower curtains up on the windward sides of the run. If anyone is wondering, yes, they have held up really well. This will be the 4th winter for some of the pieces. The trick is to secure it so that it doesn't flap in the wind. The curtains with metal grommets (instead of just the plastic reinforced holes) are better.
What brand exactly do you use? And how do you secure the three sides that don’t have grommets?
