Thanks, I am happy for them.I am very happy for you and them, the best outcome one could hope for. You have no choice but to do what best for group as whole. It is hard though

Anything sweet will attract fruit flies. Savory (think, meat or decaying vegetables) will attract regular house flies better. If you eat meat with a bone in it, put the bone in with bits of scraps on it. Let it sit for a few days, to start to decay and have odour - that should do it!Sounds like a good idea. For trial 2 I will try kitchen scraps and/or apple cider vinegar and soap to reduce the surface tension.
Such a pretty chook, I just love the variety of colours.Anything sweet will attract fruit flies. Savory (think, meat or decaying vegetables) will attract regular house flies better. oOk well, the only male here now is Mr P. The issue with poor Marty missing and found hiding away sealed all their fates. And after seeing how everyone was enjoying themselves out and about the past 2 days with the boys safe in their pen affirmed my decision.
The silkies are just too small to have to deal with rowdy boys. It would be different if it were just the big girls. I would have kept Penne.
But I am glad they are with hens their size.
Here are the gang at this point:
Mr P
Fluffy
Curly
Henny Penny
Marty
Buttercup
Misty
Whiskers
Rose
Dorothy
Blanche
Penelope
Sophia
Tippy
Eli-too
Petunia
Butterscotch
Muffy
Babe
Ruth
Sue
Cash
Red
Sharpie
Larry
Raven
Topsy
Flopsy
Twister
Chicken math is a hard thing!
