That’s very exciting! What will your baccalaureate be in? I seem to recall you did say once but I can’t remember.

Education and I plan to start my Masters in Learning Experience Design and Educational Technology right after I finish my BA. :) I hope to get back into the workforce while I do the Masters program though.

That's great! Hopefully you can get something close to home, more time for the kids and chooks :)

Are you absolutely sure you won't go 'just three chicks won't matter, they're so cute!'
Yup absolutely sure - I am all chickened out here. Last night when the young Roos left and a still had 29 to count I had to shake my head. I only wanted to have around 15 16 for the winter, and here I am with 29.....

:th

Ok well, the only male here now is Mr P. The issue with poor Marty missing and found hiding away sealed all their fates. And after seeing how everyone was enjoying themselves out and about the past 2 days with the boys safe in their pen affirmed my decision.

The silkies are just too small to have to deal with rowdy boys. It would be different if it were just the big girls. I would have kept Penne.

But I am glad they are with hens their size.

Here are the gang at this point:
Mr P
Fluffy
Curly
Henny Penny
Marty
Buttercup
Misty
Whiskers
Rose
Dorothy
Blanche
Penelope
Sophia
Tippy
Eli-too
Petunia
Butterscotch
Muffy
Babe
Ruth
Sue
Cash
Red
Sharpie
Larry
Raven
Topsy
Flopsy
Twister

😳

Chicken math is a hard thing!
Hugs for you and I think you made the right decision. You tried with the boys and sounds like you also did the right thing by them. You gave them a chance in a new home, it is now up to them to behave. They were not even my boys and I am still upset and angry with Rico over poor Floyd.

And there you are with 29! :tongue:tongue:smackAll I wanted was 12 to 14 total chooks and so many died off. The ones I have now are not quite as friendly as the original ones.

I will not enable, I will simply suggest.

I would go ahead and set up the brooder just incase. You have been missing easter eggers. If they really do get a shipment in that is a sign. You had so much fun brooding the rocks, imagine the fun brooding some new bearded laidies. Also, poor Dakota does not have a friend. Maybe with some one on one time with the potential new bearded laidies while they are inside being brooded a friendship could be established. Win, Win in my book.

2 for Tuesday.

Not that I am enabling or influencing someone....but EEs and Rocks also make best friends.
