So, while a 71 isn't the best, it isn't flunking.

Can you go over the test with the teacher or a tutor to see if you do actually know the stuff (and are just freezing when taking a test in math), or if you need more help understanding it? Most people learn language based stuff better/quicker because that is the mode they are in for most of their awake time. That means that t generally takes longer to both process and 'set' mathematics in your brain. It doesn't mean you can't learn it - it just takes longer to be comfortable with it (and, by the time you are, you are already having to learn more stuff, so you never get a feeling of 'Oh, yes, I'm all set now'...because, again, you are pouring more math stuff into your brain while your brain is trying to solidify what you have already learned - but aren't yet 'comfortable' nor 'fluent' with it yet.

The other thing - it is best to study in small chunks frequently than long chunks of time - allows your brain to process small bits at a time. (like 1-1.5 hours tops.

@Pastel The Rooster
It might help to consider the work itself and even the tests too as Practice, more than Final Judgement, and to slow down - as @bgmathteach said - do it in bits, and take some deep breaths.

I flunked the math test. I got a 71. I studied all weekend, so I'm not quite sure how I got that low of a grade.

On the plus side, I put Eli with the others and I'm going that she is still alive tomorrow.

In my day a 71% was a C or passing. What is it now?

I am all healed up and doing fine. Thank you for checking on me :) I don't have to go back in to get another skin check until December. Right now, I am just trying to finish up my last three classes for my bachelors degree. So close!!
