Nellie's tail was like that just over a week ago. Phyllis looks surprisingly sleek. Moulting with style.

Didn’t it do that last year also? Mine has a lot of bids on it, hoping for a good flowering in the Spring, all assuming the frost doesn’t get them againMy trees have been dropping leaves for a while, especially the magnolia. Interestingly enough, we have also had enough rain for it to bloom again. Check this out.

How is Ida doing? I'm assuming (?) Anna continues to improve - hoping Ida is stabilizing or getting better, not worse.Tried to improve the run trench before filling with stones. Then tested again. I think the French drain is actually working, at least for now!
Here's the South end of the French drain next to the driveway, there's an old blueberry near it.

Maybe the biggest dirt buildup in the pipe is near the end of it. Anyway, saw actual flow!
The gangs are getting along relatively well. When the Buckeyes leave the dry pile of litter and go forage, the Spuds move in for a quick dustbath or scratch, and leave as soon as they are discovered. Popcorn is in heavy molt, Hazel less so but is molting too. Needless to say the Spuds are changing out feathers all the time.
