especially the magnolia. Interestingly enough, we have also had enough rain for it to bloom again.
:eek:I've never seen magnolia rebloom! I have seen lilac rebloom in the fall the last two years. Not this year, unless it's still to come.
Since they are saying a mild winter then I expect a lot of rain or freezing rain.
I'd prefer snow to freezing rain, any time. :( Freezing rain equals power lines down and power outages, and LOTS of accidents on the roads. At least we don't have to worry about going to work and having to drive anymore.

I have to get pictures for tax off my phone. May I run a tab for a few hours, please?

Poppet has one purpose and that is to be my ball of fluff with attitude that silkie hens are known for being. If she wants to go broody in the future I will let her. Chiquita proved to me silkies are amazing mothers. It is hilarious to watch those tiny feather dusters act like they are 100 feet tall and ferocious while they are broody. Deep down a goal is to have a pure silkie daughter of Branch's to keep. Maybe this time around I can make that happen. If it does not I do have his and Chiquita's grandbaby in Spooky even if she is only half silkie. I love my flock and the other hens. It just felt wrong and incomplete without a tiny terror bossing the big girls around.
Yes they sure are good at being broody and bossy 😁 I love when Fluffy is innocently walking by one of the other hens and WHACK give a thump to them and just continues walking so innocently by them - what a brat haha.

I am going to look forward to following her progress 💕

My neighbour’s magnolia always blooms twice a year - mine never has.

Re freezing rain - agreed, at least with snow I can plow it up - rain etc is just mud. The horses and chooks don’t like any of they miserable stuff. Past few days it’s been miserable rainy chilly weather, the chooks have been hanging out with me and the horses looking in the back door wishing they also could come in.

Awwwww that’s so sweet 💕 I miss my silkie babies but I do have enough of chooks so no more for me.

And I do have a bunch who hop up on various parts of me 😁 (always with poopy feet of course) - but I need to point out that Rosie is in school all day so there is your opportunity to snuggle with them 😊

How is your gran doing, has she seen Poppet yet?
Grandma is stable. I honestly cannot say she is better. She can move her legs a little bit to help scoot her up in the bed. She has lost all ability to use them to help support herself into a standing position or even to take a step with assistance. Her oxygen needs have increased. When she was sent home from the hospital the setting was supposed to be kept on 2. To keep her comfortable she cannot lay flat of her back anymore and it had to be increased to 3. When we have to attend to her needs to bath her or change her bedding the little exertion alone she does wipes her out and for about a hour we have to bump it up to 4 or she smothers. 3 times now when she scared us it had to be shot to 5 to help her breathe and 5 is as high as it goes and according to the people who brought out the oxygen machine should not be kept at a 5 permanently. She also spends 80% of her time now sleeping. I will say she is trying. As hard as it is, if she went back to how she was before she went into the hospital with her attitude she could make life utterly miserable. Her apatite is gone and she hardly eats anything. We no longer argue with her if she asks for something she should not have we give it to her. No point in arguing, she will only take one or two bites or a sip of something and say it does not taste right or she just cannot eat anymore. She has not had to have any insulin though for almost 2 weeks. She has not met Poppet yet, does not even know I have her. Before I told her about her I wanted to make sure I had her and also test her personality. I will let her meet her soon. I'm sure Poppet will brighten her day, she took Chiquita's loss hard. One reason I did not want to get her hopes up if something had happened and I did not get her.

🤔 Where do I go to place my bets on PonyPoor not getting anymore chooks? It’s a sure thing that she will. I would make a fortune betting against her! :D

How about Orlando Bloom? He comes out when ever there’s another pirates 🏴‍☠️ movie open?

Sounds like you and your mum are having a tough go of it.

And just bet when your gran sees Poppet she will definitely be happy so see such a lovely wee chickie 💕

No! No more chooks this year!

Now next year is another story, I still would love a Dark Brahma and maybe a Cuckoo Marans 💕
