I built a new roost with poop board so that there is plenty of roost room for all the chickens. Nobody is using it.

Come on ladies! I am out 8 screws on that thing! (Scrap lumber, leftover paint, but new screws.)

They'll figure it out. I hope.

Hahaha best laid plans and all that….they have their own minds!

Well I shoved Topsy and Flopsy in the new nest boxes but they weren’t having any of it. They laid 2 lovely eggs in the hay on the floor.

I shoved Twister in a box and told her KFC.

She laid a lovely blue egg in the nest box - then Raven also laid her egg in there

Tomorrow Topsy and Flopsy had better start laying in the boxes or else!

I’m not sure what to do about Sir Jaffar. His molt is tough on him. It wasn’t at all like his last molt. I am trying to keep him as comfortable as possible. He still stays away from the ladies, by himself in the yard. So I just take him inside and put on a movie !

Poor Misty is rather bald - she has dropped so many feathers since yesterday and I found her laying on her side in a nest box, so I helped her removed gobs of feathers that were just so lose they were falling out.

Then I gave her some Tylenol. Maybe you can give Sir Jaffar a half a baby aspirin to make him more comfortable. I would have given Misty aspirin but my pill cutter was at the house and I didn’t have anyway to cut one in half (figured the round saw was not gonna do it ) so I have her the Tylenol instead.

Hopefully she will have a more comfortable night - poor pookie

Where do you get apple slices that float on water? (The chooks don’t like apple slices anyways)

Ya my kids don’t like apples either, but they like cranberries and raspberries - oh maybe I will try raspberries in the water bowl tomorrow, I have a ton of raspberries still on the canes.

For real. Mine are like freaking piranhas. But the punishment for nipping is forced snuggles, so it all works out.

I’m too far south to grow blackberries/ Boysenberries .

I think after tonight all bets are off with berries and likely apples, it’s going to be frosty, we have only had one night of frost so far, which is really unusual.

They’re busy harvesting.
