And lay lovely blue eggs I hear. My Azur blues are a hybrid leghorn x Araucana - that lay Robin-egg blue eggs. And they are the silliest friendliest birds

I don’t think we can get those whiting true blues up here. But I have high hopes for my Hoover chicks I got this past summer. I should start a pool ‘what colour will she lay?’.

Today I was at Walmart and the cashier pealed off the RFID tag on my allergy meds, I told her I would like to keep it and put in someone’s pocket…. She laughed haha - but I told her - no seriously I wan to keep it! She didn’t let me though. Big meanie! No fun at all!

I don’t think we can get those whiting true blues up here. But I have high hopes for my Hoover chicks I got this past summer. I should start a pool ‘what colour will she lay?’.

Blue eggs is the hope! The geneticist who created them started with the same founding breeds as the Azurs. I’ve heard folks are getting greener ones than expected this year though

The pavers look good. Sorry I have not kept up to know why you are installing them. To keep rats out? Some sort of insulation layer?

No, to get the floor somewhat above water / dampness that wants to drain through the packed shale and seep underneath on its way over to a French drain. I dug a trench that really helped most of the major water problems. Tried concurrently raising the floor with a stone & gravel sandy mix that turned out to draw water up, so switched to pavers.

My green egg layers have been moulting - one lays a greenish-blue egg very pretty. If you crack those green and blue eggs and look at the inside of the shell, they will be blue!

All other egg colours will be white inside. Blue colour (and green) start off at the beginning of the egg shell creation process, thus the blue colour.

So much easier to clean - you can put your shavings on top of them, then sweep them up every so often and get rid of. Much more hygienic.
