I should wait until Caturday but I will go ahead and do a formal introduction.

Everyone meet "Keeper". 3 weeks in mom gave him this nickname which as it turns out is officially his name.

Mom was not "keeping" any until out of the blue in a span of about 12 hours when they were around 3 1/2 weeks old his perfectly fine siblings crashed and passed away. Mom was terrified she was loosing him to but he pulled out of it. Now that he has had almost all of his shots and is deemed healthy he has been allowed outside time. When outside the hay pile is his domain. He attacks the hay, climbs the trees and causes general chaos. He is being schooled in the way of the chicken, which is good, he needs it while he is young. I have already caught him curled around Bunny while she was busy laying her egg. Both were content. He has been flogged and learned chickens are not toys. Of everyone to try and pounce he chose Momma Hen. That did not go well for him and I questioned his intelligence. He learned, I have not saw him try to pounce any of them afterwards and he steers clear of Momma. He also hides from Owly, she see's him as a squeaky toy and stalks him. Thanks to her he ends up in the tree's several times.

Awwwwww 😊💕

My cat is terrified of the chickens Roxanne attacked her one day and she hasn’t been back here to the barn since.

You will need to get a photo of him nesting with the hens laying eggs 😊

Wow they sure aren’t babies anymore, I miss all our babies we had running around on the thread this year 😊💕 we need more babies!

Magnificent, spectacular, beautiful, amazing, fantastic, and other words that haven’t been invented yet to describe those birds of yours!
We need to name one after you, a pullet named alexandrine 😊💕

Looks refreshing
I give my birds water but they like to put one claw on the bowl rim while drinking and sometimes tip it over
Then they act like it's my fault 🤣
Tis the way of the chicken, we all know it well.

One of my birds molted her tail off this year 🤣
I was wondering where it went
I went to grab poor Sophia last week before she went all bald, and when I grabbed for her tail all the feathers came away - did the same thing to Raven and Sharpie, everyone here is moulting and good luck catching them! There goes their handy grab handle!

Mr P

Well I was able to catch him and do some more clean up on his irritated skin, I debrided a bunch of gunky feathers from his head and neck and from his ear, I am wondering if he had an ear infection? Anywhooo I removed all the old gunky feathers around his ear and then cleaned the outer ear, I applied some antibiotic eye ointment to the skin and ear.

He was not very happy with being handled, as usual. He will get this treatment twice daily till Sunday now so he best get used to it!
