Hahaha I know I shouldn’t laugh but mine are also like that tonight also. There I am trying to get horses in and settled so I can check for chicks and those darn birds are now up and running around - so I said fine be like that.

I want and checked for chicks. Nothing yet, but the egg is now pipped and chirping like crazy 😊 and looks like Curly’s egg chick has pipped into the air cell, not chirping though.

Then I couldn’t find Butterscotch - oh well she’s in Reenie’s stall digging through fresh horse poop don’t you know.
:sick

And she wouldn’t come out! Darn chooks!
(Gotta luv dat!) :lau

My Hen-Rietta is complaining about something. I’m checking her out thoroughly. She’s so hard to hold because she’s so soft. View attachment 3690227
Sadly, her bumble foot is back. It took a long time to recover, but there’s still some healing to do I guess. I’m looking for a splinter or pebble.

We headed to in-laws today. Discovered that the message saying dinner is TOMORROW didn't come through. Dropped off food we brought and turned to head for home. Will go back tomorrow. Niece wanted to pick my brain about an issue with 2 of the chickens. I've never seen/heard of anything like it before.

Any thoughts on it, please comment there.

It is still relatively warm here. Below freezing at night, but not super cold.
I really wish Babs would get her molt done before the really cold weather starts but I see zero sign of it.
Did she do a slow molt? for some, they are barely detectable....as opposed to the fast molts that leave them half naked. I had one hen previously that hardly looked like a feather was out of place, but she certainly molted. One wing feather at a time was the tell-tale sign - otherwise I wouldn't have believed it. Check her wing - stretch one wing out and check feather length for all the primarys
