Frequently that's all it takes is 1 trouncing. Sometimes from the papa and sometimes from the littlest lady (*cough*cough Twirp *cough *cough). With only the 1 boy, poor Bert won't be able to get away with much. Mr P AND 20 some odd adult (or mostly adult) ladies will be watching him closely....and thump him when he gets fresh. I think he's going to be a good boy.

Oh ya he will be a little prince.

I am sure Raven and the other old bats will beat to stuffing out of him!

Oh I should welcome you to the thread, I haven’t seen you here before have I?

By Bob is the owner of the thread and he pops in frequently, we are a chatty bunch and just love seeing others chooks and of course babies

Right now a bunch of us have chooks moulting (bad time of year to do that), and pullets laying first eggs - that’s always eggciting!

We would love to see photos of your chooks when you get time! Feel free to jump in for a chat any time

Speaking of moulting - I have come home to both Rose and Buttercup losing feathers like crazy! OMG what a bad time to start moulting! It’s snowing like crazy here, and winter is really ramping up and they are moulting I guess I will need to get the sweeter heater up and running, and get the other one also working. Poor wee ladies.

Got another egg today that looks like first egg size. Not sure who's egg.View attachment 3695971I'm not sure who's laying that bronze egg, either.

And Cardhu was checking out the nest boxes when I got home and closed the coop. (Girl, it's a mite late to be laying eggs, but by all means investigate them all...and properly lay in the coop, not out in the wilds like your mama and egg donor: Storm, PearI'm looking at you)

Those are some lovely eggs! Everyone has such a lovely variety of eggs here - isn’t it wonderful?
