That's typical for mountain areas in the Fall. On our hill we tend to avoid the early killing frosts - the valley gets hit hard cause the cold sinks down and stays down.
Same here - an inversion of airmass, I am in a low laying area and we get early frost, and in the summer it will be darn chilly here and sweltering up on the hill! Personally I prefer to be hot than cold!

Yes they know "Spuds!" lol! Yes she became lead when Peanut passed in the Summer; Hazel was second-in-command. Butters was third and wasn't feeling well, she died in October. Those two were great friends and companions with Hazel, she hung with both very nicely (occasionally putting Butters in her place) and I feel sad for her losing them both so quickly. Popcorn was fourth in the order and is now Hazel's #2. Right now they seem to be tribe-mates more than companions, but they do hang together a lot. I'm hoping when the three Spuds come into lay there will develop more friendships/mentorships and the groups will gel together.
I love your spuds they are so lovely 💕

What happened!
Maybe that’s the feather up Branch’s butt… 😆

Look for it. It has to be around there somewhere !
You gonna check branch’s butt for it? 🧐

She's moulting out her last set of baby feathers and growing in her adult feathers
Glad I didn’t answer - I am short on SHRA tax photos 😁
