I think things are not as dire as I feared. Went out to check the coop and lock up and here's what I found. View attachment 3706329
That's Meanie and Sheba on the top, Eenie and Goldie on the bottom, and Tres on the nest boxes, like always.

So she comes out to roost. I guess she just hides from time to time.

Crazy chickens.

I see RC made a suggestion for hiding places - you can put up a board like a low wall in the middle of the run and the coop, so that they can get out the line of sight from the others.

A few bales of straw piled up, things they can hop up on and get behind, someplace that they can’t get wedged under.
Something as simple as a couple chairs together with an old sheet draped over it to make a tent would be a great hiding place.
