Soooo…. I am NOT gonna catch up on three hundred pages of this thread… I hope everyone is well! Sorry that I’ve not been on here for four-ish weeks. I’ve been busy with school and all of that. I really do hope that everyone is doing just fine, and that your chooks are happy. Ponypoor, how many chicks did you hatch? I scrolled through one page since I left and I saw the little white chick. Is she still alive? Any more siblings?

I’ll try to be on here more. I am looking for some Polishes, but it’s so hard to find them.

Rooster mugs

We had a warming day yesterday, so I sat out on a rock and got SURROUNDED by chooks. Fed them crumbled bits of gluten free protein wraps (gotten for Mom when they joined us for dinner, new, worth trying, not particularly good). The boys were mostly content to stand around and point at bits the girls missed. The ladies squabbled a little over snatching bits from under beaks of others, but kept it to no more than a remonstrative peck and squawk of protest.View attachment 3707869Tuff

Roosters get such a bad wrap but they are undeniably beautiful and yours are a fine example of it. Gorgeous boys!

Mugs Monday - Story and his ridiculous number of spots, Lore has lost some as his adult plumage has come in as is typical for roosters of this color and bred but not Story he is still has so many!

Might not get any chicken pictures today, they are blaming me for the weather! Good thing I cleaned their coop and put lots of fresh bedding in Saturday...

And Ash the other day looking beautiful as always. I bought some fake eggs to put in their coop, then dropped them in the store parking lot and broke one. 🙄
But I glued and apoxie-sculpted it so we have a very ugly egg...hopefully the girls will excuse its looks.

Here they were before bedtime yesterday, I'm assuming the poops were from when they inspected them.

Sounds wonderful.

For Thier Own Good

So being the thoughtful chicken hooman that I am, I have locked everyone in the complex today. We had heavy drenching rains yesterday and now the wind is howling. Normally they would be huddled under the apple trees doing nothing trying to stay warm. Since they are locked in the complex, everyone seems to be having a nice time in the big coop. Warm and snug and Out of the wind.
